Our origin tale
When our founder experienced how difficult it was to claw through endless resources and information, she decided to build a better solution.
Cat Connection was founded on the belief that cats are members of the community—and as members of the community, they deserve empathy, care, respect, and understanding. Our philosophy? Better understanding begins with better information—and therefore, we’re building a community where any human can find any answer related to their feline friends.
Founded by lifelong cat enthusiast, grassroots advocate, fundraiser, and volunteer, Francine, Cat Connection is a safe space where humans can learn from one another to best support their furry companions. Throughout her career, Francine fundraised for Best Friends, the nationwide leader in the no-kill movement; aided colony cats through the Homeless Cat Network, and served in nonprofits throughout the West Coast and across the globe. As someone who truly sank her claws into the cat community, she experienced the fragmented process of finding reputable resources, information, and guidance.
Today, Cat Connection seeks to bridge those gaps by compiling the ultimate kitty catalogue of tips, tricks, and cat-haven spots within the Bay Area—and we’re not.even.close to being finished. Like all Earthly creatures, we are a work in progress, and will continue to expand upon our online library as new resources, tools, and advice become available.
